There are always challenges for the teacher who
may be new or experienced in the classroom and school. One of them is that
his/her classroom should be focused and free of distractions.
Many classroom strategies may work for any
classroom. When a teacher implements a combination of effective teaching
strategies, his students have more opportunities to perform better in class.
Here sharing few classroom strategies for
effective teaching-learning process:
Plan a lesson:
A systematic
planning should be seen and understood in his teaching. He should know what is
to be taught. He should be aware of the portion of each class.
Teaching Skill:
The teacher should
make his class very interesting and live. He should develop a thirst for
knowledge among students. His teaching should be research oriented.
Teacher’s
Appearance:
The teacher should
enter in the class with all enthusiasm. His appearance should be pleasant and
friendly. Instead of sitting in the class, he should be present everywhere in
the class.
Homework /
Assignments:
Homework or
assignments should not be given daily. It should be supplementary & minimum.
Students’
Involvement:
Discussions should
be done with purposes. Thought provoking/ open ended questions should be asked.
The teacher should encourage students for spontaneous and creative answers
instead of memorized ones.
Create Interest:
The teacher should
make his teaching a pleasant experience. He should keep his students active
throughout the class. The students should eagerly wait for his class.
Discipline:
The teachers should
be aware and concerned about the class discipline. He should have a full
control of the class.
